............

Today I came home and opened up my bag and found it full of envelopes. A bunch of my kids wrote me cards (see above) because they thought I had a bad day yesterday (Which may be true...)

Dammit, I thought I would be so happy that the year was over and that I wouldn't have to deal with them anymore, but I may be one of those teachers who gets a bit misty-eyed at the end of the year, if tonight was any indication.

I was one of those teachers who got misty-eyed. Every day of the final week. I cursed my kids for being so thoughtful and saying such nice things b/c it would be so much easier if I couldn't wait to get out of there, instead of wishing summer wouldn't come so soon...

Crazy how things don't work out the way you'd always think, huh? Here we were at the beginning of all of this talking about how frustrating it was & how we weren't sure we'd want to keep doing it, and then...you get kids that do things like that. And suddenly it's all worth it. <3
